Bovine colostrum as a food supplement: uses and benefits
Colostrum is a pre-milk fluid produced in the very first days after birth by the mammary gland. This fluid is a concentrate of biologically active protein factors, proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and antibodies, capable of protecting and nourishing the baby in the first days of life.
The bovine one, in particular, is used to promote the production of antibodies capable of fighting the bacteria of infectious diarrhea and, more generally, intestinal infections.
What bovine colostrum is used for

Bovine colostrum contains a high content of immunoglobulins (Ig) and growth factors. Its properties are related to its extremely varied composition, which includes proteins, carbohydrates, amino acids, lipids, vitamins and minerals. In particular, the protein component includes IgG (G1 +G2), IgA, IgM essential for the immune activity of bovine colostrum. Other relevant components are creatine, creatinine, lactoperoxidase, and lactoferrin.
