Challenges in Oxidative Homeostasis and Supplementation (Episode 2)

Challenges in Oxidative Homeostasis and Supplementation (Episode 2)

As a continuation (see Episode 1) of our journey with Prof. Gabriele Costantino on “Challenges in Oxidative Homeostasis and Supplementation” we would like to share with you the second episode.

Challenges in Oxidative Homeostasis and Supplementation (Episode 1)

Challenges in Oxidative Homeostasis and Supplementation (Episode 1)

We had the pleasure to discuss with Prof. Costantino about oxidative stress, its role in physiological and pathological conditions, antioxidant defenses and RedOx balance.

In this chapter we present the first episode of Prof. Costantino’s point of view on these topics, as a part of an article, which will be fully published in two episodes.

Physiological Modulation

Physiological Modulation

Oxidative Stress (OS) is a condition due to unbalanced RedOx state of the organism, and several high impact factor journals (Nature Review, Science and Science Translational Medicine) reported comprehensive reviews about the pathophysiological role of RedOx signalling in central homeostatic mechanisms at different levels.
