EuPower is a food supplement based on Creatine monohydrate, HMB (beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate) and Vitamin D.
EuPower has been developed as a nutritional ally for people undergoing therapy with GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs (GLP-1 RA) for the nutritional support of normal muscle function, to be combined with adequate resistance physical activity and an adequate protein intake, according to the instructions of the doctor or nutritionist. It is available in sachets; it is recommended to take one sachet a day, dissolved in water.
Vitamin D contributes to the maintenance of normal muscle function, to the normal absorption and utilisation of calcium and phosphorus, to the maintenance of normal bones and to the normal function of the immune system*.
Creatine, taken in the amount of 3 g per day, increases physical performance in the case of successive bursts of short-term, high-intensity exercise*.
The product is safe and compliant with Directive 2002/46/EC.
The recommended daily dose must not be exceeded. Food supplements are not a substitute for a balanced and varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Keep away from children under 3 years of age.
GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs (GLP-1 RA) often induce a significant reduction in body weight [1], an effect mediated in part by a marked decrease in caloric intake linked to a reduction in appetite and to better control of food intake [2]. Several studies have highlighted how, alongside the loss of fat mass, a relevant share of the weight lost during these therapies is represented by lean mass, including skeletal muscle tissue [3]. Maintaining muscle mass during sustained weight loss requires a multimodal approach, which includes an adequate protein intake, a resistance training programme and, if indicated by the doctor, targeted nutritional support [4;5].
Some nutrients have been studied for their possible role in supporting muscle function, including creatine, whose use is particularly documented in the context of ageing and musculoskeletal health [6], and vitamin D, known for its contribution to the maintenance of normal muscle function [7]. HMB is the subject of study in the field of body composition in conditions of inactivity or in advanced age [8], also for its role in the activation of the mTOR pathway, one of the main regulators of muscle protein synthesis [9].

People undergoing therapy with GLP-1 receptor agonist drugs (GLP-1 RA) often lose weight significantly and in a relatively short time. Several studies indicate that part of this weight loss is not fat mass, but lean mass, including muscle tissue. If the therapy is not accompanied by an adequate protein intake and by resistance physical activity, the reduction in muscle strength and tone can be greater than that expected in gradual weight loss.
EuPower is designed for people in this situation: a nutritional support to be taken during GLP-1 RA therapy, to be combined with, not to replace, the two levers that really affect the maintenance of muscle mass: resistance training and an adequate protein intake in the diet.
In the presence of significant and rapid weight loss, the reduction in body mass is not attributable exclusively to adipose tissue: a variable share of this loss also involves skeletal muscle mass. This phenomenon, less visible than the weight figure but physiologically relevant, is attributable to the fact that, in conditions of negative energy and protein balance, the body activates sparing mechanisms at the expense of muscle tissue, which is metabolically expensive in terms of protein turnover. This dynamic is particularly accentuated during therapy with GLP-1 receptor agonists, where weight loss can reach clinically relevant magnitudes in a relatively short time, with a lean mass loss component that the literature has begun to document.
EuPower combines three ingredients with a complementary rationale of action in support of the muscular component during this phase.
Vitamin D plays a direct role in the physiology of the muscle fibre, acting through specific receptors (VDR) expressed in skeletal muscle tissue and implicated in protein synthesis processes and in contractile function. A deficiency condition is associated with a reduction in muscle strength and performance; in subjects with reduced caloric intake, the risk of vitamin D deficiency is increased because of the lower dietary intake of the nutrient.
Creatine is among the most investigated ingredients in the field of exercise physiology: through the phosphocreatine-ATP system, it promotes the rapid regeneration of ATP during short, high-intensity anaerobic efforts. In individuals who train regularly, this translates into an improvement in the ability to sustain greater work volumes (in terms of sets and repetitions in resistance exercises or high-intensity efforts). This benefit also has an indirect effect: the possibility of maintaining an adequate training stimulus during a hypocaloric pathway is itself a protective factor against muscle catabolism, since resistance exercise is among the main anabolic stimuli capable of counteracting the loss of lean mass.
HMB (beta-hydroxy-beta-methylbutyrate) is a metabolite of leucine produced endogenously in small amounts. It has been studied for its possible role in the modulation of muscle protein balance, in particular through the inhibition of proteolysis processes, in conditions associated with a greater catabolic risk such as physical inactivity or caloric restriction.
The combination of these three components constitutes a formulation with a rationale of action targeted at supporting the maintenance of muscle mass in subjects engaged in a weight reduction pathway.
EuPower is available in sachets; it is recommended to take one a day, dissolved in water, maintaining adequate hydration throughout the day.
